Help Improve Our Sidewalks

Everyone in the south capitol neighborhood uses sidewalks and knows that there is a lot of room for improvement in their condition. You probably have a few favorite examples of damaged or even missing sidewalks in the neighborhood. But what can we do to fix these problems so that no one is injured or prevented from just getting around?

One way is to take a few moments the next time you are out and use a free mobile app to submit a photograph and brief description of a sidewalk problem. The Olympia Council of Neighborhood Associations (CNA) built this app to collect data from residents about sidewalks needing repair. The CNA will consolidate all the data and provide it to the City of Olympia. The City plans to prioritize all sidewalks this year needing improvement. So your picture may help get our sidewalks to the top of the list for repair.

Use either of the attached how-to guides to download the app and start using it right now. Again, it is free to use and it will help get attention focused where it can do the most good.

Keep in mind that the app is still being improved so feel free to send comments, questions, or concerns to Larry Djieza at cna.olympia@gmail.com.
