Many residents recall the security and public safety issues that occurred on or near the Capitol Campus in the fall and winter of 2020/2021. If you have questions about what has changed on the campus and what to expect in the coming months please come meet with Matt Jones, Assistant Director for Campus Security of the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services on Wednesday, October 9 at 6:30 pm. at the Lincoln Elementary School library. This meeting is part of a regular Neighborhood Association board meeting, but we will allocate up to an hour for this special presentation.
Mr. Jones and his team have made many improvements since 2021 in order to deal with a variety of risks on the Capitol Campus. His team monitors the campus and works closely with the Washington State Patrol, the City of Olympia Police Department and other agencies as needed. He will explain what has been done to be better prepared this year and what residents can do to stay informed.
