The City of Olympia Community Planning and Development Department reminds everyone in parking zones 1, 2, and 3 that they will need to renew or purchase new residential parking permits for 2025 before the end of this year. Brooke Ison and representatives of the Parking Services Division will be at the next South Capitol Neighborhood Association board meeting on November 13, 6:30 pm in the Lincoln Elementary School Library to answer all your questions about the residential parking program.
Attached you will find a zone map of the neighborhood to help you find which zone you live in (or no zone at all – lucky you, Washington Street residents), an overview of the progarm requirements and the offical Residential Parking Application and Affidavit. You can also complete the application or your renewal on-line.
Many residents have asked why the City requires extensive documentation and why it must be renewed each year. Partly this is because neigborhood residents and the association want to prevent non-residents from obtaining residential parking. If non-residents were to obtain a residential parking permit there will be less on-street parking available for residents. Unfortunately this means making the application a little more onerous. Come to the meeting on November 13 to learn more and get answers to all your questions about the program.
