I know you are all wanting to know who won the drawing for the $100 Vic’s Pizzeria gift card at our neighborhood association’s annual meeting last night.
But, before I get to that, some thanks are definitely in order.
First and foremost – to everyone who came – thank you so much. We had 35 members of our neighborhood association attend, which more than satisfied our 25-member bylaw requirement for the meeting. It was fun and gratifying to see so many people show up at the Lincoln Elementary cafeteria on a beautiful spring evening. I enjoyed chatting with you!
And I’m proud to report that our neighborhood association now has 157 members! I’m thrilled we have surpassed our previous goal of 100, so now it’s time to set a new one. I’m hoping we can reach 200 members by the end of the year!
During the meeting, we re-elected John Saunders as president, me as secretary, and Lorie Hewitt and Valerie Hammett as at-large members. We also added three new members to our board! Many thanks to Blake Melancon, Eric Seder and Tyler Graber for agreeing to serve.
And, last but not least, many thanks to our annual meeting volunteers who moved tables, set up and stacked chairs, brought drinks and goodies, signed people in and handed out raffle tickets. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Please consider joining our neighborhood association (it’s free), and if you want to support us by paying voluntary dues (suggested donation $15/year) – we would greatly appreciate it and we’ll put that money to good use!
For our annual meeting and Fall BBQ/social, we are lucky to be able to use grant funds from the City of Olympia, but we do still have monthly expenses for our website and Google suite (which we use for neighborhood distribution list emails and for storing our minutes and other documents) – so the dues come in very handy to help defray these costs.
Last but not least (drumroll please), the winner of the gift card drawing was Anne Suagee-Payne! We plan to hold another drawing at our barbeque/picnic social in early Fall – more news to come on that soon!
